Sometimes I get a jolt of panic that this new recurring love interest of Sam’s will come between Sam and Dean’s epic ending.  I mean, it’s great that there will be a female character who is smart and doesn’t die in one episode and that Sam can find happiness aside from Dean….but…

I’ve always wanted the show to be about the love between the two brothers and  the last episode to be about Sam and Dean (I want them to both go to Heaven in the end and be reunited with their family, or continue road travelling together fighting evil).  

Because of the running fan joke about Sam’s penis of death, the show will probably go the opposite way and not have her die, which means she will be recurring, which means she might be there until the last season, last episode, and become Sam’s real love after Jess.  It might end with Dean dying and going to heaven, and Sam going to Amelia to live a semblance of a normal life.  

That’s all well and good in another TV show, but what sets SPN apart for me, is that the show is brave and unafraid to show brotherly love and dedication between two males.  They are Heroes.  It’s their curse and their gift to not be able to end with a happy apple pie life, they’ve been through too much, seen too much.  They’re meant to be tragic but triumphant, dealing with deep seated issues together, them against the world threatened by evil. They are united and are truly only happy when they live or die together.  It doesn’t necessarily mean I’m into Wincest, just that given the way they grew up, the end should be about Sam and Dean Winchester.  I don’t want to see Sam and Amelia Winchester, and then Dean.  The show has always been about the boys.

I probably shouldn’t be worried when the show hasn’t even started up again but I really hope the writers stick to their guns and end the show with an epic Sam and Dean/Michael and Lucifer showdown that will have the brothers finally at peace together.
